Journey so far
My mission is to celebrate and share the natural food, freedom and joys that sustained not only my childhood but English souls, landscapes and communities for centuries.
I hope to shine an alternative light to the homogenisation of hospitality, bleached of so much authenticity and soul.
The project started with six bell tents and a pop up kitchen during Covid. Until then I was growing Happerley, a snowballing movement to connect consumers to the true journey of their food.
The pandemic struck just as we turned Banbury’s former BHS into England’s showcase of food and drink provenance, forcing me to retreat to where my heart is.
There followed a few years of costly trial and error (there is a book in this!) but always an inimitable vibe. We are now ready, finally, to open as Somewhere More Than.

A very private affair
We are gated and ring fenced by our own land, aloft from roads, reality and regular. No walk-ups, no strangers, just hens to gossip.
It is one reason we attract those wishing to dance away from the fire of fame, and why we were chosen to host Marina Abramovic’s first and only UK retreat last year, ahead of her Royal Academy exhibition.

Our Hill sits a few miles north of Gloucester, the ancient crossroads of England, and just south of Tewkesbury, overlooking Cheltenham and the Cotswolds surrounds.
A network of paths connect us to the lush floodplain of the Severn, snaking its way between the Cotswolds and Malvern Hills.

Behind the farmhouse with its sweeping views is a nest of luxury yurts, several lodges and two en suites, most with privates spaces and views.
Adjacent lies the camping and events field with lawn sports and heated pool.
Communal indoor and outdoor dining, club rooms and kitchens lie in the heart of the hilltop nest.

Cobney Bar is fully licensed, beginning each day by serving fresh coffee and juices.
On site kitchen team, serving to restaurant, club rooms, poolside and accommodation.

Our Field of Dreams hosts events, lawn sports and a large camp fire. It adjoins the Oasis hosting cocktail, pool and BBQ parties.
The clubhouse, Mill Terrace and Party Nest provide covered spaces for parties and banquets.
Our tasting chamber hosts intimate private dining experiences and all our accommodation feature private dining spaces.
